The home of the Marquette University Debate Forum is the Marquette Debate Center, part of the J. William and Mary Diederich College of Communication, located on the ground level of Johnston Hall on the beautiful urban campus of Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Marquette's tradition of public speaking and debating started at the time it was established in 1881, and the Forum builds upon this honored history. Marquette University’s institutional mission includes “the search for truth, the discovery and sharing of knowledge, the fostering of personal and professional excellence […] and the development of leadership expressed in service to others.” Offering students the opportunity for debate and discussion supports the Diederich College of Communication’s curriculum goal to lead “students to develop intellectually as mature, educated and responsible citizens of the world.” staff
